The Cromwell A27 tank was the Cruiser successor and the first British tank with a decent armor. Fortunately, it's improved armor did not affect the Cruiser series' excellent mobility. Its main armament, the QF-75 75mm gun, though not a technological leap forward was still far better than the outdated 2 pdr-1.
The Cromwell combines the front line effectiveness of a medium tank (when deployed in numbers) with the ability to strike quickly at enemy flanks, looking for weak spots in a defense.
Just don't go against advanced medium tanks of germany
History
In 1941 the British General Staff drew up a list of specifications for a heavy tank as previous models had failed to convince in terms of protection and firepower. The Cromwell proved its worth and remained Britain's most important tank up to the end of the war.
Above all it was exceptionally fast and maneuverable. Compared to German tanks, however it was too lightly armed and armored, despite the armor of later models being increased to a maximum 4 inches (102 mm).
