The Cannone da 47/32 M35 was an Austrian artillery piece produced under license in Italy during World War II. It was used both as an infantry gun and an anti-tank gun.
A great early-game AT gun, this cannon can engage any tank the opponent can throw at it in battle. However, it was prone to infantry and machine gun fire, as it didn't have the 'shield' used on other AT guns, but made it lighter to deploy and move in the field.
History[]
The Austrian firm of Böhler originally designed and manufactured the gun. In the 1930s Italy bought some of these guns from Böhler, and then began to produce the weapon under license, continuing its development. The same weapon was also used in the Austrian, Romanian, Soviet and Dutch armies. The Cannone da 47/32 M35 was the main armament in the M13/40 medium tank, the M14/41 medium tank, and experimentally on the AB 41 armored car (see photograph), and the 47/32 self propelled gun. The M15/42 featured a slightly improved version of this gun (the 47/40).
The 47/32 was built in two versions, the first with semi-pneumatic disk wheels, and the second (in 1939, from which the name 47/32 mod. 39) with improved barrel and suspension (in some series also electron wheels with celerflex semi-pneumatics). To tow this piece, the tractor OCI-780 CM and the light tank L3 were used, but these projects were soon abandoned as the gun was subjected to breaking at the axles spindles and shanks.
Strategies and Tactics[]
- Like all anti-tank guns, the best defense against them is to recon them and then attack with infantry, aircraft or artillery. Armor, even in massive numbers, is not very recommended unless they are higher tech.
- Unfortunately, this is the only AT gun with Italy which can lay ambushes.
Pros & Cons[]
+The gun is Equal to other light AT guns eventhough its' characters wouldn't be able to match guns like the M1 -57mm. (Granted, the M1 -57mm is heavily nerfed to fit the role.)
+Although somewhat short at only 32 calibers (Italy only included the rifled section when measuring.) it still has the velocity and firepower to hurt tanks.
-This artillery piece was used as a field gun and had long range for it's caliber. this is not featured in the game, the rating would be poor anyways.
