An LST is an American ship used to land units onto beaches during the Normandy Campaign. LST is an acronym for "Landing Ship, Tank", as when they would pull onto (or close to) the shoreline they would directly unload the tanks.

They appear in R.U.S.E. as static, unusable objects off the shore of both Italy and Normandy, in their respective campaigns. Units appear to have landed from those ships but in reality they just spawn right on shore. They also cannot be destroyed, as they are both allied and not an actual unit.

Trivia[]

  • During World War II, American soldiers would often say LST stood for "large, slow target." This is quite accurate, as the large nature and slow speed would often make them prime targets for enemy coastal guns and fighter-bombers.
