According to Wikipedia's definition of infraction, or summary offence:

A summary offence is a crime in some common law jurisdictions that can be proceeded against summarily, without the right to a jury trial and/or indictment (required for an indictable offence).

Basically, an infraction is a violation or infringement of a law, agreement, or set of rules (breaking the rules).

Infractions and toleranceEdit

Tolerance is the capacity to endure continued subjection to certain types of vandalism. If a user commits small-scale vandalism that can be easily reverted, there will be tolerance. If the user decides to commit again, tolerance will drop and the user will eventually be warned for a block and then be blocked.

There are some cases where a user commits an intolerable action (for example, heavy insults on another user), the user will be immediately blocked, banned, globally banned.
